RESOURCES FOR REHOMING YOUR PET

As a small, foster-based rescue, AjK Family Rescue has a specific mission and rescue partners designed to help us save as many endangered animals as possible. We keep our foster homes full with the dogs we have pre-committed to help. As of the beginning of 2024 we are no longer accepting owner surrenders, or lost/found dogs into rescue.

Here are some resources for helping you to keep or rehome your pet in the Austin-area:

  1. Adopt-a-Pet

  2. APA’s PASS Program

  3. Did you adopt from a Breeder or Rescue? Contact them to see if they will take the dog back.

  4. Home-to-Home

  5. Word of mouth! You foster your own pet while you actively post them to your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers on Nextdoor, Facebook pet groups such as Pets Needing Rehoming in the Greater Austin Area or Austin Adopts Pets, and local job or interest groups via social media.

  6. Austin Animal Center Rehoming Resources
